Dr Theodore Herwig enlightened the group about Physicians on House Call. He is a member of the Visiting Physicians Association,(www.visitingphysicians.com)an agency whose goal is to bring Integrated Health Care Home. He noted that there are guidelines, criteria, qualifications and protocol to follow before, during and after house calls.

The 70th Annual Convention OSMA Alliance was held on May 13-14, 2010. The CMAA received five awards from the OSMA Alliance.

"Future of the CMAA"
Membership has been thriving like a tortoise for some years now. The same people are recycled to hold board positions every year. After further study, the board will try a "Team Management" approach next year. The organization will be run by committees, rather than structured positions.

"Doctors' Quilt"
We are collecting old neckties and scarves to make a quilt. Donations are welcome.

"T-shirt to the Village of Zimbabwe"
T-Shirts, in all sizes, are being collected to give to the people of Zimbabwe. Dr. Phil Cass, CMA CEO, will deliver them when he goes to the village.

"Doctor's Day Blood Drive" in March

The Doctors Day Blood Drive collected 159 units of blood in honor of 139 physicians. Our Scholarship Fund also received donations in the amount of $225.00 to honor 9 doctors.

Celebrate Women event Nov, 11, 2009 presented the 2009 nursing scholarship recipients (OSU, Mt.Carmel College of Nursing, Chamberlain College of Nursing and Otterbein College.)Andrea Cambern, 10 TV news anchor and community leader was the guest speaker. Certificate of Recognition from Mayor Michael Coleman commending the CMAA for providing numerous services to the Central Ohio community including scholarship fund for needy nursing and medical students and health promotions to make Columbus, OH the best place in the nation to live, work and raise a family and official proclamation from Gov. Ted Strickland recognizing the 70th CMAA Anniversary on the CMAA's continued work on promoting health education and protecting public health are worthwhile endeavour deserving praise.Donations were received from community businesses and Alliance members for the silent auction and door prizes. There was a circular diamond necklace raffled. We thank all the donors, planning committee members,friends who shared the mission with the Alliance, the adorable models and Brookside Country Club, all who made this event fun and profitable.

Buckeye Extravaganza November 5, 2008

The “Buckeye Extravaganza” event was on November 5th, 2008 at Scioto Country Club to raise funds for medical student and nursing scholarships. We had a boutique, silent auction, fashion show of Buckeye outfits, luncheon and a talk by Ellen Tressel, wife of Ohio State football coach, Jim Tressel. It was a record turn-out and a profitable day for our scholarship fund.
